ZOUPING, China, Aug. 17, 2023 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/--

On August 11, the opening ceremony of the 6th International Conference on
Shangshu Studies was held in Zouping City, hosted by the International
Association of Shangshu Studies and organized by the Municipal CPC Committee
and people's government of Zouping. Lyu Mingtao, vice mayor of Binzhou and
secretary of the CPC Committee of Zouping, Liao Kebin, a professor at Peking
University, Wang Jinquan, the director of the humanities & social sciences
department of Yangzhou University, and Qian Zongwu, the chairman of the
International Association of Shangshu Studies attended the opening ceremony and
delivered a speech respectively.

During the event, the International Association of Shangshu Studies donated
books to the Library of Zouping. A series of activities such as keynote reports
and parallel forums were also held. The cultural activities of the event mainly
included Fusheng Poetry Conference and the public memorial ceremony of Fusheng,
which lasted for two days.

In recent years, Zouping has been prioritizing the development of culture and
has implemented three actions to shape its culture, tourism, and civilization,
according to the Information Office of Binzhou Municipal People's Government.
The city has focused on fostering three major brands: Fangong Culture, Fusheng
Culture, and Yellow River Culture, in order to promote high-quality cultural
development. Zouping has successfully organized the sixth International
Conference of Shangshu Studies and hosted the sixth China Fusheng Poetry
Conference, which are two vivid examples of how the city is implementing its
"innovation and entrepreneurship" strategy. This year, the International
Conference of Shangshu Studies was held in Zouping for the first time, which
marked a departure from its previous location in colleges and universities. The
event attracted hundreds of experts and scholars both at home and abroad. The
attendance, number of collections, and the scale of the event have set new
records in its history.
