Asian Brands Springing Up in the Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller Industry with China's Haier Ranking First in Sales
GUIYANG, China, March 29, 2019 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

At the beginning of 2019, the "2018 Global Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller
Industry Research Report" was officially released. According to the report, in
2018, the global magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller unit market consisted of
4,720 units, with an increase of 26%. Asian sales of 1,970 units ranked first
in the world and Chinese market achieved sales of 1,158 units, an increase of
42%, which accounts for 24.5% of the global market share. According to industry
brand sales, the top three manufacturers are Haier, SMARDT and McQuay. Haier
achieved the largest sales in the global magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller
units in 2018, by selling 637 units worldwide, accounting for 13.5% of the
global market share.

For a long time, due to the relatively high threshold of research on magnetic
bearing centrifugal chiller units, only a few companies were involved in its
research, development and product promotion. Relatively speaking, Europe, North
America, Australia and other regions have developed more rapidly in magnetic
bearing centrifugal chiller units, while Asia and Africa were relatively
lagging behind.

Before the 21st century, the research and development of magnetic bearing
technology originated from the West while comparatively, Asia was completely
blank. Now, there has been a sudden boom in Asian brands, especially Chinese
brands.

The fundamental reason why the product can be recognized on the global market
is attributable to the leadership of Haier Central Air Conditioning technology.

Haier's Brand Leadership

Haier is a strong representative of Chinese and the larger Asian market among
magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller brands.

In 2006, China's first magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller was officially
launched by Haier and Danfoss Turbocor. Since then, Haier has taken the leading
position in magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller in the Chinese market.

At present, there are three competitive magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller
brands in the Chinese market, which are Haier, Midea and Gree. In 2018, Haier
achieved sales of 580 units in China with a proportion of 50.1% in the market
share and therefore, more than half of the sales were from Haier.

In the middle 2018, Haier and SMARDT took the lead in introducing the
air-cooled heat pump magnetic bearing centrifugal chiller unit, which smoothed
the difficult issue of magnetic bearing centrifugal chillers being trapped by
single cooling technology, and thus opened a new chapter in development.

Encouragement from Chinese Government Policy

The Chinese government is promoting energy-saving and emission-reduction
policies, encouraging the use of magnetic bearing and energy-efficient
products, and giving economic subsidies and tax incentives, which has
stimulated the investment of Chinese brands in magnetic bearing technology.
Many enterprises have participated in the research and development of this
technology and more and more professional talents have been valued for it.
Correspondingly, magnetic bearing application is developing and is well
recognized by consumers.

Significance of the Chinese Population

From the user's point of view, the high energy efficiency of the magnetic
bearing series saves them a lot of money, which wins their trust. As the
largest market for global consumers, China has a huge population base of 1.3
billion people. Haier central air-conditioning, which is in the leading
position among home appliances, has a huge advantage in promoting the magnetic
bearing series.

In addition to household central air-conditioning, magnetic bearing centrifugal
chillers are widely used in factories, hotels, hospitals, rail transit, data
centers and more. In the industrial field, Haier accounts for two-thirds of the
Chinese market share; e.g. in the hotel sector, the proportion of Haier's brand
share is as high as 56.6%. From all the data above, Haier's position can be
considered firm.

It can be said that occupying the Chinese market is generally equivalent to
occupying more than half of the Asian market, so the huge potential of Haier
central air-conditioning in the future global consumer market is clear.

Magnetic bearing technology is being applied to the lives of users around the
world by its high-efficiency, no-friction, no-vibration, no-noise, small power
network impact, and long durability features. Moreover, brands and enterprises
get involved in the research and development of this technology. In the next
few yers, Chinese brands, including Haier, are expected to lead central air
conditioning in Asia and the world into the "Magnetic Bearing Age".
