During the media event to announce the events at W Hotel Taipei today (10/30),
Mr. Chang Shi-Chung, Deputy Director-General of the Tourism Bureau, along with
Japanese celebrity YouTuber Sanyuan JAPAN, formally kicked off two leading
promotional campaigns - "Lucky Star Wheel" and "Internet Celebrity Star Live
Streaming". From Dec.1st 2019, people who finish the Quiz Challenge and ignite
the "Lucky Star Wheel" on Taiwanstay.net.tw will have a chance to win a
discount of NT$1,000 (worth approximately US$30), which they can use at a
star-rated hotel in Taiwan. The Bureau will also invite celebrity YouTubers to
livestream their stays and experiences at star-rated hotels.

Moreover, with an extensive evaluation by a committee composed of experts from
industry, academia and government, along with an online voting, a list of 100
winning hotels was revealed. It covered winners of "Star of the Year" and
specialty categories such as "Heart-warming Service Star", "Leisure Vacation
Star", "Fashion and Style Star" and "Green and Tech intelligence Star".

"The Tourism Bureau has been developing actively the hotel star-rating system
to sync with international hotel rating standards," said Mr. Chang. By
evaluating the service standard and marketing position of the participating
hotels, we aim to provide travelers safe, clean and excellently-serviced
accommodation options.

Mr. Chang further elaborated: "However, with the significant number of
participants in the competition, there were a few that were not able to make it
on the list. We would like to deliver the message that 'All star-rated hotels
are good hotels. A star-rated hotel comes with guaranteed quality' to the
public. We will continuously encourage travelers to go to Taiwanstay.net.tw to
enjoy more benefits and discounts when they stay at star-rated hotels."
