CCTV Video News Agency aims to deepen partnerships with ASEAN media outlets

The 2nd ASEAN Media Roundtable was held on October 31 in Beijing, co-hosted by 
CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) and People's Television Network (PTV) of the 
Philippines. The meeting, themed "Mutual Development & Shared Future", was 
attended by more than 120 delegates from China and some other 40 countries.

Teng Yunping, CEO of China Global Television Network Corporation and Chairman 
of CCTV Video News Agency said "2019 marks the China-ASEAN Year of Media 
Exchanges. And CCTV+ is willing to promote China-ASEAN media cooperation by 
content sharing, co-production and personnel exchanges."

Julio Castillo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PTV of the Philippines, 
the co-organizer of the roundtable, applauded CCTV+ for holding such event. He 
said, "Exchanges between mainstream media is a good opportunity to learn about 
the status and future development trends of the Chinese and ASEAN media 
industry, and to foster cooperation, content production and promotion of 
projects."

During the conference, CCTV Video New Agency signed a News Service Agreement 
with MCOT Public Company Limited of Thailand. As of now, CCTV+ has set up 
cooperation relationship with 41 mainstream media organizations in 9 ASEAN 
countries.

Watcharin Setakudan, Editor-in-Chief of MCOT of Thailand believed that this 
event could be a model of effective collaboration between China and ASEAN 
countries.

Sofman Mahmood, Group General Manager, Corporate Affairs of Media Prima Berhad 
of Malaysia called for a video platform that could gather and share stories of 
all nations.

Souphaksone Silaphet, English News Anchorman of Lao National Television said, 
"CCTV+ not only uploads time-efficient and useful news footage every day, but 
also provides live signals to access to social media in China."

Experts from world-renowned news agencies and media technology companies also 
gathered in a meeting on the sidelines of the main event to discuss the 
importance of technology and media revolution.
