COMMENTARY: Huobi Co-Founder Du Jun's views on Australia's Potential License Regime for Crypto Exchanges
GIBRALTAR, March 21, 2022 /PRNewswire-Asianet/--

On Monday, March 21, 2022, Australian Minister for Digital Economy Jane Hume
announced at Blockchain Australia that the Australian government will "let
Australians invest in crypto assets safely and securely" by establishing a
market license regime for crypto exchanges.

Details will be released as part of a policy paper on Monday. Senator Andrew
Hume also proposed the concept of a comprehensive Digital Services Act, which
would adopt a comprehensive approach to regulating the cryptocurrency industry.

On this subject, Du Jun, co-founder of world-leading cryptocurrency exchange
Huobi Global, commented the following:

"We are pleased to see the Australian government adopt such a forward-looking
approach towards regulating the cryptocurrency industry," said Du Jun,
Co-Founder of Huobi Group. "Australia is the world's thirteenth largest
economy, making it an attractive market to Huobi. We believe that regulation is
good for the industry and promotes long-term, healthy growth."

"Becoming a regulated exchange would give us a badge of legitimacy and also
enable us to work with more partners, such as banks, payment channels, and
certain advertising channels," said Du.

Du Jun co-founded global cryptocurrency exchange Huobi with Leon Li in 2013 and
served as CMO, raising money from the likes of Zhen Fund and Sequoia Capital
China. He left the company in 2017, only to return in 2020 to oversee the
company's overall marketing and branding strategy.
