International Mountain Tourism and Outdoor Sports’ conference

Asian International Stamp Exhibition

To maintain a friendly bond with the members from the Asia Philatelic Federation (FIAP), as well as to further promote the Asian International Stamp Exhibition, this event gathered 24 members from different countries and regions including stamp dealers, stamp collectors, and collectors from the post council. The event wanted to put Asia’s abundant culture and creative ability on display. This year’s exhibition was titled “Joy of Philately” and showcased stories, history, characteristics and values of stamps. The highlight was a rare collection of stamps worth a total of NT$ 1.5 billion (about US$ 50 million). Decorated like an amusement park, the entire atmosphere of the event was full of entertainment and excitement. As a result, this art and cultural exhibition attracted 230,000 visitors for a feast of the senses.

Dragon Boat Festival

Dragon Boat Festival (Longzhou Jie in Chinese pinyin), also known as Duanwu Festival, is one of the most important traditional festivals in China. There are many folk activities held during the festival like dragon-boat racing, hanging calamus and artemisia, etc.. Dragon Boat Festival is the top four most well-known tradition festivals of the Chinese nation with Spring Festival, Mid-autumn Festival, Tomb-sweeping Day. It originates in China, however, it’s also celebrated in some neighbor countries, like Japan, South Korea, Vietnam. As one of the oldest festival in China, people like to row dragon boat and eat Zongzi to celebrate in Dragon Boat Festival from ancient times. In 2008, Dragon Boat Festival is designated as a public holiday in China.

Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo

The Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo (SRDICE) is an important platform organized by the Chinese government for cultural cooperation and communication among countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. It's held annually in Dunhuang, Northwest China's Gansu province. Dunhuang, most famous for the Mogao caves, is an important stop on the ancient Silk Road. Nanyang Culture Festival

The Kingdom of Thailand to Stage Royal Barge Procession on 22 October 2011

The water-borne royal kathin procession on 22 October will consist of a flotilla of 52 traditional-style barges arranged in five columns, based on a battle formation from ancient times. This is made up of four major royal barges — Suphannahongse, Narai Song Suban H.M. King Rama IX, Anantanagaraj and Anekchatbhuchongse, ten barges with animal figureheads and 38 smaller vessels. The five-column flotilla stretches 1,280 metres in length and 110 across. A total of 2,200 sailors from various units within the Royal Thai Navy will serve as oarsmen.
