United News of Bangladesh (UNB) is recognised as the nation's most dependable and credible source of news and information, serving some 50 million readers, listeners and viewers every day.
The UNB newsroom processes about 250,000 words a day gathered from a network of local correspondents and reporters covering 54 districts, as well as receiving dispatches from its international partners and overseas correspondents.
Subscribers include all leading newspapers, government offices, Bangladesh Television and Radio Bangladesh.
In addition to its main service, UNB maintains a Bangla (Bengali) service - translating news from English into Bengali for transmission mostly to newspapers published outside the capital city of Dhaka.
UNB is a member of OANA (Organisation of Asian and Pacific News Agencies), CPU (Commonwealth Press Union), AMIC (Asian Mass Communication Research and Information Centre) and the AsiaNet consortium.
